FunnyBoy

Ty is talking more and more and a lot of what he says or tries to say is so funny.  The girls and I spend a lot of time every day trying not to laugh at the poor guy.

Thursdays in February are home games- Ty wakes up and somehow KNOWS it's "ballgame day!"  So this Thursday after breakfast he dressed himself up (Halle helped zip him up) and then told me, "Goin' college.  Bye!  Love you!  Ballgame day!":

Mondays are "'Nastics Day" (Gymnastics Day).

Dinosaurs are "Dinohorses." Or even better- "Dinohorsies"  You see his pjs in the above picture?  "Dinohorse Jammies"

Horses are "ColeDolly" or "Papa's Horse!"

He generally whines while I'm fixing meals.  He stands by my legs and tells me how hungry he is.  Last night he told me, "Ty whining."  Just in case I didn't catch that, I guess.

His booster seat he calls "Ty's Hungry Seat."

At bedtime he has his favorite books and songs.  "G'ight Moon" and "Puppy Small" are common choices and he picks "Ballgame" or "Twinkie Tar" for songs. (Goodnight Moon, Puppy Too Small, Take me out to the Ballgame and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star)

In the mornings, the girls tend to" check on Ty" before I get into his room.  Most mornings we hear him yelling at them "CLOSE THE DOOR!"  I laugh every time.

He's listened to every Ramona Quimby and Henry Huggings book I've read to the girls.  They're stored on a shelf in his bedroom.  Sometimes when I get him up from nap he points to the shelf and says , "Oh, 'Mona!" or "Hen'y Huggins!"

Halle is usually the one who helps him if he needs something and my hands are full.  Therefore "Thank You" has become "Thank you, Halle."  As in: "Thank you Halle. Cate."-when Cate does something nice.

Likewise, it's typically Cate to whom he has to apologize.  So now it's "Sorry Cate. Halle." when he pulls Halle's hair (a common problem around here.)

Also, I hear, "Cate did." almost every day.  As in: "Cate did.  Hit me." or "Cate did. Take car."  Yes.  Tattling.

The other day at church I heard his teacher ask him what color his backpack is.  His reply was "Pink 'n Purple."  My thought?  'Thank YOU, HalleCate.'

When he came out of his room with that ^ SpiderWoman costume on, I gave Halle a look and told her to stop putting dresses on Ty.  She said, "But Mommy, it's SPIDERMAN!  He's SUPERBOY!"  I pointed out that it was still a dress and then let it go.  Ty seemed happy enough to wear it.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised to have such a goofy boy.  After all, he IS following his sisters' lead...
(This is her "tall throne". She was "taking notes" and "waiting for Princess LuLu and Superboy.")
