We left the boys at home today, so we girls could go have some fun! (They went on a recruiting trip- they didn't sit at home feeling sorry for themselves.)
Our first (and most fun) stop was The Nutcracker Ballet performed by the Tupelo Ballet Company.
It. Was. Fabulous.
It was all I could do not to laugh out loud when I over heard the shocked comments coming from the two 8 year olds beside me when the male dancers first appeared. ;)
Halle and Cate spent most of the two hour performace on my lap, completely absorbed. Luckily the Mouse King wasn't as scary as they anticipated! (We spent our preschool time on The Nutcracker yessterday so they would know what was going on.)
After the show, the girls got to meet some of the ballerinas:
After the ballet, we spent the rest of the evening shopping and eating out:
It was so nice to hang out with my girls. Of course, without a nap the fun wore off for Cate after a while. But I shop prepared: apples, gummi bears & pretzels. :)
Our Girl Party wasn't quite what it used to be. But it was a nice mini-version!
